Hi.....I have bought things on sale, off e-bay, or garage sales and most is new or looks new. Much of it is still in packaging. I have two granddaughters and I am sending their clothes that was never worn or lightly worn, as well as toys they have out grown or never even used. I also have a son and a daughter and they help me by going through their things that I can have to send out, like mabe some clothing or music CDs. I have alot of stuff. I had not thought about giving it away as gifts until I came to this page. Now I am having fun going through the things I have that will make a nice gift, or outfit for those less fortunate. I thought I needed help, and I do with collge, but these are needs for Christmas, and for people that have more problems, and that just seems more important than my needs right now. So that is how I got started in this just a few days ago. Sent the first boxes off yesterday. It felt good to help someone else, and makes my problems seem so much less.

     I have not tried UPS Flat rate, I shipped through the post office and it was several pieces of clothing and toys for two children. It cost 34.00. I had no idea it cost that much. I was told that UPS is more expensive. I will have to look into that flat rate shipping, all the boxes will be different sizes, as I do not have as much for some families or the items are smaller, but they will be multiple items in each box. I am a low income person, I just know where I can get some things for people and have many things that I pick up that I can give people. This sounded like a great idea to me as I love to help others, but I am going to go broke trying to do so. I have already promised several families gift boxes, because I do have the items and have them boxed. That 34 dollars hit me like a ton of bricks I figured 10 bucks at most. I will find a way to get them sent out though. Thanks for the advice........Lisa

I am the parent of two boys ages 9 and 7. They are great kids and work reallly hard in school. This Christmas is going to be tough as we lost our home in September 08 and are rebuilding our lives from the ground up with one full time income from my husband and I work part-time as that is the only job offer I could get I took it. With the daily living expnses and not qualifying for programs,and missing signup deadlines for others we truly need help to make thisa christmas the boys will enjoy. I am an Iraq veteran and it is hard to ask for help, I can not work due to various health reasons since returning from Iraq. My husband works and we get the bills paid but leaves little for anything else. We do not live in Section 8 housing like some peopel who ask for help for christmas do. We do not have a car payment like some people who ask for help do. our car is 15 years old with 180,000 miles on it.  I know it is hard for everyone right now. All i am asking is a few bags of size 4 diapers and some 24 months clothes for my littel boy who is 1 year old. his name is Evin. Some cltohes size 7\8 and shoes size 2 and maybe one toy for my daughter andreana. and Some clothes size 16/18 pants need to be elastic waist or size 34 and shoe size men's 8 for my 9 eyar old son Dakota and maybe a toy or some tools. We will except anything it does not have to be new it can be gently used. My children would be graeatful for anything we are not proud. I do not know who in the hell told you you could not get into any programs for Xmas but they need to do something else other than pass out advice. You are just as eligible as anyone else is. Vincent De Paul--and call anyone in your cityhall that might have the # of your local community action program. Get on your computer and go to http://www.modestneeds.org---http://www.digitalcharity.com---http://www.my-donation.com---http://www.cyberbig.com---Call your local TV stations and inquire as to when their coat drive or gift tree applications  are being taken. Call Toys for Tots they may still be taking apps. There is a ton of things you can do for yourself.  You are the maker of your own destiny so get out and kick some assl. The economy has hurt our family.  We lost our nice house, sold our cars and now I was laid off.  Our family is a working 1 income family struggling to get by, we don't have a sad story for you, we just have the honest truth... we can't afford Christmas this year and can't get into any programs to help us because we don't have our own family social worker and according to the state, county and salvation army, because of that, we won't qualify for help.  Someone, anyone please help me out here... I only have 1 daughter, she's 9 yrs old and just needs a few Christmas gifts this year.

Hello my name is katelyn i now live with my aunty and uncle they took me my 2 sisters and 1 brother in form our neclecting mother. All together she has 6 kids now cause she had 2 twin boys of her own, before she got us. My aunt and uncle really need help to get christmas presents. This is going to be a surprise for them, and i need all the help i can get so when my other siblings come down on christmas morning some thing will be there for them.
